Planting Smiles

The members of Yi YUVA REC organized a nurturing event, "Planting Smiles" at Avvai Kalai Kazhagam, a special education school, on November 11th, 2024 that created a joyful experience with nature in an exciting way. The day started with a fun icebreaker session that was enjoyable and brought smiles to the children. The purpose of the day was thoughtfully organized to instill in children a deeper connection to nature, it was followed by a creative pot decoration session which the children enjoyed thoroughly. After which, the soil was added and then the seeds were sown with excitement by the children with the guidance of the members that developed a meaningful sense of understanding nature. Every pot became an epitome of growth and love towards nature. The children then participated in games that encouraged exploration and sensory engagement. A fun dance session was initiated and was followed by a thumbprint chart display which was cherished. There was happiness among every child as a display of beautiful keepsakes of the day was shared. On the whole, the Planting Smiles initiative was a rewarding experience for the children and the members of Yi YUVA REC. The initiative has reinforced the values of empathy, creativity and environmental responsibility among the pillars of the exuberant future.
